PORC'S HISTORY

PORC (Public Opinion Research Center/ in Japanese: YORON KAGAKU KYOKAI) is one of the oldest research organizations in Japan. PORC is an independent research organization with non-profit corporate charters authorized by Japanese Government in 1946. In 1947, PORC conducted a random sample survey which was the first time in Japan. Since then, as a Japanese pioneer of survey research, PORC completed more than 8400 researches.

PORC specializes in a broad range of research activities as applied to public opinion, marketing and advertising research areas. At the same time, PORC provides highly accurate data (valid and reliable) coming from a full range of research methods: survey(telephone, mail, personal interview, group interview), observation and experimentation made by highly skilled pollsters /marketers, and well-trained interviewers in the nationwide network. Moreover, PORC's research is characterized by high ability of identifying and solving research problems as our research findings reports show.
